About our projects
The Friends of Wallisch Homestead purpose is to stabilize, restore and preserve the Wallisch Homestead for our community.
Visit the homestead and tour the grounds, pick up our tour and descriptive brochures about the buildings and read the storyboards about their history.
The Homestead current look
Front of house restoration
The house exterior wood siding was repaired or replaced where needed. The siding was prepped and the house completely repainted. The law office and kitchen porches were restored. The gutters and leaders were replaced.

Barn restoration - windows
The Barn doors have been repaired and windows have been replaced.

The barn of the Wallisch Homestead had its roof replacement with a grant.

The barn exterior wood siding was replaced or repaired and painted. the barn floor was replaced including support columns. The doors have been repaired and windows have been replaced.

The Creamery building
The Creamery building roof was replaced. Repairs to the chimney were completed. Gutters and leaders were added. The fascia boards were replaced or repaired and painted previously. Security cameras were also installed. The barn exterior wood siding was replaced or repaired and painted. The entryway was removed and replaced to improve access.

Windmill
The windmill has been restored and provides water service to the community garden and property.
Electric
We also upgraded the electrical service to 200 amps for the main buildings. Interpretive signage was also installed describing the history of the buildings and Homestead.
